Vector Based
Technology
Vector-based technology is
an expression we use to describe geometrical
formulas to represent images. Graphical images
can also be represented through bit maps. Bit
maps, also called raster graphics, are images
composed of a pattern of dots. In explaining
this process to the owners of www.PageTronics.com
we told them that the human eye works as a
bitmap picture, catching images in a mosaic
raster of photon recipient nerves. But the
human brain handles it as a vector image.
Using vector-based technology cuts out that
middle man, providing images that delight the
viewer's brain.
The web designers at
Certified Computer Experts love using
vector-based technology because it stretches
our imagination and the imagination of the
visitor. We can reconfigure, resize and
reshape. Designer Tom Fitzgerald calls it
making life better than life. When done
correctly, the images as vectors look so much
clearer and crisper on the computer
monitor.
Yet for all of these
benefits, vector graphics often require less
memory than bitmapped images do. The
technology is just
wonderful. Everyone designing a site would use
vector if they appreciated how to use the
technology. This is what the designers at
Certified Computer Experts pride themselves on
- putting vector based technology to work for
our clients and their visitors.
